Malus sargentii 'Tina'
Attributes: Creamy-white flowers densely pack this dwarf (five-foot), mounded, spreading crabapple in spring. They arise from diminutive pink buds and almost encircle the tree's branches.

sargentii 'Select' Firebird) Mike Yanny of Johnson's Nursery in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, developed this crab. Its red buds open into white flowers. It sets long-lasting red fruit every year (unlike some crabapples that flower every other year).

Malus sargentii 'Tina' is a small, rounded dwarf form that's only five feet tall, the most petite of all crabapples. Bright red buds open to lovely single white flowers. Later this mini-tree develops small, bright red fruits.

sargentii, Zone 5) grows a mere two metres high and will eventually spread to three metres, making it a good choice for a small garden. Its newly introduced cultivar 'Tina' is reputed to be even smaller, growing only about two-thirds this size.

One of the best is Sargent cherry (Prunus sargentii), a classic that stands above the rest at a height of 50 ft (15.2 m).
