Silica gel is that white powder that looks like salt, that comes in tiny containers in everything from sneakers to vitamins. Silica gel is great at absorbing moisture and it speeds up the drying process considerably.
Apply Silica Gel. To preserve fragile and moist blooms, use silica gel, available from florist and craft suppliers. In a shallow, airtight plastic or glass container, spread the flowers on a 1-inch-thick layer of silica.

Store seeds in a small mason jar,vacumn seal bags or air tight plastic bag with a silica gel packet . If you don't have silica gel use dry powdered milk wrapped in a coffee filter.

As soon as you’re done planting, store seed packets in an air-tight container in a cool place: the refrigerator is ideal. To keep the humidity low in the container, add a packet of silica gel.
