Advantages of sprigging
Springing is usually less expensive then sodding, plugging, and hydroseeding your lawn.
By picking out individual springs, you can help avoid any unwanted weeds, grasses, etc. that may be introduced to your lawn.

 


Sodding is the most expensive, followed by sprigging, then seeding. Seeding may be done by hydromulching or hydroseeding, but its success rate may be limited in fall if you have an early freeze.

The exception is for newly established lawns by seeding, sodding, or sprigging, when the need of phosphorus is higher in the new plant.
