Superior oil can be combined with the Bordeaux or copper spray to smother aphid eggs, mite eggs and San Jose scale if these are a problem. Apply oil only when the temperature is over 50 degrees.
Superior oil describes new, more refined oils that can be applied safely-at lower rates-to green leaves.
To confuse matters further, the term "superior oil" was used to describe the improved, more highly refined oils that are safer when applied to leaves during the growing season. All horticultural oils now sold are superior oil.
