Wheelbarrows are quickly being replaced in home gardens, by the popular new two wheeled garden carts.
A wheelbarrow is useful for transporting tools, while a watering can is essential for keeping seedlings and plants in containers damp. If you have a lawn, buy maintenance tools, such as a half moon edger and edge trimmer.
A wheelbarrow or cart is very handy to have in and around the garden area. Select one that is easy to handle when full, with good maneuverability. Durable construction is well worth paying for to ensure a long, useful life.
Tools: Wheelbarrow, larry or mortar hoe, steel trowel and hawk (these can be improvised with pieces of flat fibro or other similar material), a sponge (which should never be used for any other purpose) and a pair of gloves.
Wooden wheelbarrows and milk crates make unusual and attractive containers, or you can build your own. Whatever you choose, the key is to find a container that's got good drainage - or else the bulbs will rot.

Begin by mixing a wheelbarrow-load of potting soil. Use plenty of peat moss and lots of water to make a thick, wet, gummy mass with the texture of peanut butter. Jam the soil-block mold into the block mix.
