Yellow woollybear and saltmarsh caterpillars spend the winter in silken cocoons. The banded woollybear spends the winter in its hairy, larval stage and begins to change in spring. Then, all the caterpillars transform into attractive, white moths.

The Darwin Woollybutt Eucalyptus miniata has got a great layer of flaky bark. The bark provides really good insulation to the main trunk. Underneath the protective layer are little buds just waiting to grow.

Thyme: Between stepping stones, thyme becomes a magic carpet of a ground cover. Not only do its tiny dark-green to gray-green leaves give off a sweet scent but they also cushion the feet. Look for creeping thyme and woolly thyme.
