Baking pans are commonly found in square, round, and oblong shapes and may measure anywhere from seven to fifteen inches (18 to 38 cm) in length and width.

Baking pan or roasting at least 2 inches deep and large enough to hold the cake pan with at least 2 inches to spare on each side. Position the rack in the lower third of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees.

Baking pans are square or rectangular, straight-sided metal pans used for baking desserts such as brownies, bar cookies, and single-layer cakes, as well as savory recipes such as lasagna. A sturdy aluminum or dark metal pan conducts heat well.

Baking pans are designed for use in the oven (for baking) and encompass a variety of different styles of bakeware such as cake pans, pie pans, and loaf pans. These are often made from light or medium gauge metal.

A baking pan refers to a metal pan, and a baking dish refers to an oven-safe glass or ceramic container. (If substituting glass or ceramic cookware for recipes that call for baking pans, reduce baking temperature by about 25 degrees F.) ...

I generally prefer shortening for greasing baking pans. It's inexpensive and is tasteless. It also won't brown or burn like butter can.

Grease: To rub and coat the inside of a baking pan with fat before pouring in food or batter.
Grill: To cook on a rack over hot coals or other direct heat. Same as broil.

Bake for about 45 minutes. Before baking the Leche Flan, place the moulds on a larger baking pan half filled with very hot water. Pre-heat oven to about 370 degrees before baking.
Let cool then refrigerate.

Chemiser - Literally to put a shirt on. Use wax paper to keep foods from sticking to baking pans, etc.
Chiffonade - Herbs or salad leaves that have been rolled and very finely chopped.

Parchment: Heat-resistant paper used in cooking for such preparations as lining baking pans, cooking items en papillote, and covering items during shallow poaching.

Breads or Loaves - a thick batter that is a cross between a cake and a bread. Can be sweet or savory. Baked in a rectangular baking pan available in many sizes and is fully baked when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. e.g.

Use oven gloves or cloths to remove hot pots from the stovetop or baking pans from the oven. Be careful of steam or hot air when you open the oven door. Place hot food on a stable, heat resistant surface.

Pan
utensil used to hold dough or batter-may be rectangular, flat or round; best surface for baking is heavy shiny or darkened aluminum for best crust color; glass baking pans require adjusted oven temperatures-reduce about 25 degrees F.

Place the cheeses in a bowl with the olives, the oil and basil and blend well. Spoon into the tomatoes and sprinkle with a little paprika. Place them gently in a greased baking pan, and drizzle with a few drops of olive oil.
