A blancher pot is a kitchen tool which is designed to facilitate the blanching of vegetables and fruits. Typically, a blancher pot is designed for stove top use, and consists of three parts: a pot, a blanching tray, and a lid.

 


Blanch (blancher): To plunge food into boiling water and boil it until it has softened or is partially cooked. It Is used to remove a strong taste from some foods such as cabbage or onions.

Blanche: a fig cultivar. A.k.a. Italian Honey fig, Lattarula, Lemon, and White Marseille. Medium to large, skin yellowish green, flesh white to amber, very sweet, lemon flavor.
