CASHEW NUT, the fruit of the cashew, cadju or acajou tree, Anacardium occidentale (nat. ord. Anacardiaceae), a native of the West Indian Islands.

Cashew nut
(Anacardium occidentale)
Cashew nut is the fruit of the cashew tree, native to South America. The tree produces fruit-like swellings, resembling pears or apples. Each of these swellings produces a cashew nut, hanging below them.

A sweet, kidney-shaped nut. In countries where the cashew tree is not grown, it is not possible to get the milky sweet fresh cashews.
Cashew nut - The cashew is native to American and no is also grown in India and East Africa. The nut hangs below the branch much like an apple.
Cashew Nuts:
Sweet, buttery, kidney-shaped nuts that grow from the bottom of the tropical cashew apple. The shells are toxic and always removed before the nuts are marketed.
Though cashew nut oil from the shells is not safe to consume, it does have uses. It may be distilled and used to line brakes to provide friction, or may make up one of the resins in epoxy finishes and coatings.
Soak the cashew nuts in boiling water for 1 hour.
Drain it and process smoothly in a mixer by adding milk & then sugar.
