Chantilly cream is quite familiar to most Americans, who tend to think of it simply as whipped cream. Most American versions of whipped cream add both sugar and vanilla to the cream, which is essentially the same as Chantilly cream.

For the lime Chantilly cream, whisk the double cream in a bowl until soft peaks form when the whisk is removed, then add the icing sugar, vanilla seeds and lime juice and whisk until well combined.

To make Chantilly cream = crème Chantilly, beat one cup chilled whipping cream until thick, add two tablespoons powdered sugar plus 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, then continue beating until peaks form.
