Chapatis are Indian breads, also called rotis. There are a number of different variations on chapatis, but as a general rule they include some type of flour, salt, and water.

 


For dipping the chapaties :
½ teacup milk
2 tbsp maida
For the stuffing :
2 potatoes, boiled
2 teacups finely chopped mixed boiled vegetables (French beans, carrots, cauliflower, green peas etc)
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tomato, finely chopped ...

Chapati - the bread usually made on a circular cast iron griddle known as a tawa, which is slightly concave to give its distinctive shape. It is cooked without fat, over very high heat.

Chapatis: unleavened breads freshly made for a meal from almost any flour: rolled flat then deep-fried until they puff and brown. Well known in India and much favored by African Indians.

Chapati - A whole wheat Indian flatbread that can be grilled or fried.

Chapati atta, jeera, chilli powder, turmeric powder, yoghurt, cooking oil, potato medium sized, and some salt to taste are used to cook Aloo paratha side dish paratha recipe.

A chapati or roti is an Indian bread made from a dough of atta (whole durum wheat flour), water and salt by rolling it out into discs of approximately 12 cm diameter and browning it on both sides on a very hot, dry cast-iron griddle or frying pan.

Tawa: a slightly concave thick iron / non stick pan used for cooking Indian breads like chapati, paratha , etc.
Telor (Indon.): egg.

Spelling varies eg Chuppati, Chapati etc. Chutneys. The common ones are onion, mango and tandoori. There are dozens of others which rarely appear on the standard menu. Cinnamon. Dalchini. The quill-like dried bark of the cinnamon tree.

Like chapatis, they are made out of whole wheat flour, but they are prepared using a slightly different method. The dough for parathas is oiled, rolled, and folded several times, giving this bread its distinctive flaky texture.

Chupatti: A dry 6-inch disc of unleavened bread. Normally griddle cooked, it should be served piping hot. Spelling varies for example Chuppati, Chapati etc.
