At the heart of Crab Louie is the crab meat itself. Just about all recipes will call for the use of Dungeness crab in order to make a true Crab Louie. However, it is possible to use other forms of crab as well, if necessary.
Crab Louie Salad - This famous west coast salad is also called 'King of Salads,' and is sometimes written as Crab Louis Salad. Today there are as many versions of this famous salad as there are cooks.
Crab Louie A cold salad in which lump crabmeat on a bed of shredded lettuce is topped with a dressing of mayonnaise, chili sauce, cream, scallions, green pepper, lemon juice and seasonings.
