Egg substitutes have made it possible for persons with allergies or even people who wish to cut back on cholesterol to still enjoy foods that contain eggs. Of course, there are several different types of egg substitute products on the market today.

Egg substitutes are made almost entirely with egg whites (about 80 percent), plus artificial color and stabilizers.

An important note: The first of these recipes call for egg replacer or egg substitute.

All these people must use egg substitutes. No egg substitutes are perfect replacements, and most are very application-specific, but in many recipes an acceptable finished product can be achieved.
