A food mill is a kitchen tool which is designed to grind, mash, or puree foods. The device is extremely useful for making a wide range of things, from baby food to mashed potatoes.

 


Food Mill - A kitchen utensil best described as a mechanical sieve. It has a hand-turned paddle that forces food through a strainer plate at the bottom, thereby removing skin, seeds and fiber.

Food mills are hand-cranked tools that purée ingredients by forcing them through a conical grinding disk, while simultaneously sieving out pieces of shell, fibers, skins, and seeds.

Food mill: a type of strainer with a crank-operated, curved blade. It is used to puree soft foods.
Food processor: a machine with interchangeable blades and disks and a removable bowl and lid. Used for blending, chopping, pureeing.
