Insalata Caprese. The holy trinity of summer salads: tomatoes, basil, and fresh mozzarella.

Insalata - [Italian] salad
Involtini - Thin slices of meat or fish which are stuffed and rolled. They may then be sautéed, grilled or baked.
Iplermagronen - Swiss specialty of macaroni, potatoes, onions, cheese and cream.

Insalata - The Italian word for "salad".
Interlarding - The technique of inserting thin strips of pork fat called 'lardons' into lean cuts of meat using a larding needle.

Insalata An Italian salad Kale A ruffled-leafed green vegetable that is a member of the cabbage family. Kiwi A fresh, egg-sized berry with a brown, furry skin and green flesh. Its flavor resembles berries and melons.

A typical and quite famous recipe is insalata caprese (Capri salad): Tomato slices topped with creamy mozzarella cheese and basil leaves and seasoned with highest quality olive oil.

Basil leaf is also used as a seasoning in tomato sauce, pizza, Insalata Caprese, salad dressing, and cooked vegetable dishes. Dried basil leaf is found in the mixed spice called "Italian seasoning," and sometimes is a component of bouquet garni.

Mozzarella is too soft to grate but cut thin slices and layer them in pasta bakes or put a slice on top of pieces of meat or chicken before grilling them. Italy's classic salad - insalata Caprese - is made with slices of mozzarella and ripe tomatoes ...
