Iodized salt is salt which has been fortified with the essential trace mineral iodine. Many salt producers make iodized salt, and it is readily available in most markets.

Iodized salt: Because iodine deficiency was once a persistent problem in some parts of the U.S., manufacturers began adding iodine to table salt in 1924.
