After the third week has elapsed, the homemade Limoncello can be repoured into smaller bottles for serving. Limoncello is tradionally stored in the freezer right up until the time it is served to guests.

Mix together the double cream, milk, limoncello, caster sugar and passion fruit flesh and seeds in a bowl until well combined. Churn the mixture in an ice cream maker, according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Lemon peel consists of two layers: The outermost layer (pericarp, 'zest') contains an essential oil (6%), that is mostly composed of limonene (90%) and citral (5%) plus traces of citronellal, α-terpineol, linalyl and geranyl acetate.

It consists primarily of terpenes, mainly limonene (68%), with sesquiterpenes such as 8% β-selinene, 8% n-butylidene phthalide, and myrcene. The characteristic aroma is due to the phthalides. The fixed oil is 16%.
