Boysenberry - a blackberry, raspberry and loganberry hybrid named for its progenitor, horticulturist Rudolph Boysen; shaped like a large raspberry; has a purple-red color and a rich, sweet, tart flavor.

In 1935, an employee of the United States Department of Agriculture crossed a loganberry and a youngberry, producing a varietal which was named 'Oregon 609.

Loganberry A hybrid cultivar of the blackberry, developed by Judge James Logan in California; the fruit is darker, larger, and more prolific than the raspberry and milder in flavor; excellent for cooking.
