Limon Lemon Lokum A Turkish delight made from sugar, cornstarch, gelatin, and grape juice. This gelled sweet is made by frying soft pieces of yeast dough in oil, dipping them in syrup, and mixing them with hazelnuts and pistachios.

In Turkey and other parts of the Middle East, the candy is called Lokum. The British delighted in the candy, and it may have been particularly apropos to praise it during the rationing of WWII, because so little sugar was allowed per week.
