Corn meal is an excellent grain source for making all kinds of wonderful dishes. The use of corn, corn meal and corn flour comes to us from Native Americans, and for centuries, certain recipes from Mexico were our first association with corn meal.

Matzo Meal
Jewish unleavened bread that is ground into a fine or medium-textured meal to be used for baking, breading fried foods and for thickening soups, stews and other food dishes.

Meal ideas to keep your energy levels high:
Breakfast
Try bran flakes or porridge with low-fat milk and fresh fruit. If you don't fancy cereal, a wholemeal muffin or toast is a good alternative.

Meal: Coarsely ground grain.
Melba Sauce: A sweet sauce made of pureed raspberries and sometimes red currants.

Rarely is there a meal in Japan where tsukemono (pickles) are not served. The simplest and most basic meal is nothing more than a bowl of rice and umeboshi (pickled plum), but tsukemono are also served at the most sophisticated and complex feasts.
