The Muffuletta sandwich is one of the quintessential foods of New Orleans, although people from outside the region may not be familiar with it.
muffuletta (moof-fuh-LEHT-tuh) - Its nickname is simply "muff." These sandwiches can be found all over New Orleans from delis to pool halls and the corner grocery stores.
