Oat bran is the outer layer of the oat kernel and a source of dietary fiber. It is eaten as a cereal and used to add flavor and texture to baked goods.

Oat bran is the outer layer of the oat kernel or bran, a fine source of dietary fiber often consumed as a cereal and used to add flavor and texture to baked goods.

Oat Bran:
The outer casing of the oat, often used as a high-fiber nutrient supplement. Thought to fight against high cholesterol, oat bran is high in vitamin B-1 and contains a good amount of vitamins B-2 and E.

Oat bran has been established as having the ability to lower cholesterol, which is why many doctors recommend eating whole oat cereal in oatmeal. On its own, oat bran may not be that effective in lowering cholesterol.

Bran is the fibrous layer coating the endosperm of cereal grains. It is separated from the grain during milling process.

Oat bran Contains soluble fiber, which can help lower blood cholesterol levels when eaten as part of a low-cholesterol diet. Add oat bran to muffins or bread, or use it as a coating for chicken and seafood.
