Paprika is a sweet-to-mildly hot cultivar of the chilli pepper (Capsicum annuum, of the family Solanaceae). Paprika peppers are a bright red elongated or round fruit.

Paprika is a lovely red spice, often also called a seasoning, that is made from dried bell peppers. When red bell peppers are dried, they are ground into tiny particles, making paprika.

Paprikas derive their colour in the ripe state mainly from carotenoid pigments, which range from bright red (capsanthrine, capsorubin and more) to yellow (cucubitene); total carotenoid content in dried paprika is 0.1 to 0.5%.

Has a number of different varieties, both hot and sweet. They add a rich deep colour to dishes and good flavour. Particularly popular is Hungarian paprika; used in goulash. Often used in rice dishes, seafood and fish dishes.

paprika (papp-re-kar) - This is the Hungarian word for pepper. The actual chile has a fleshy pod, a deep red coloring, and variable heat levels. The pod is quite broad and can be pointed, elongated, and heart-shaped or aubergine-shaped.

Chorizo is a pork sausage originating from Spain. It is made from coarsely chopped fatty pork and usually seasoned with chili and paprika.
