Ponzu sauce is heavily used in Japanese cuisine, although it can sometimes be difficult to find outside of Japan.

Ponzu, citrus-flavored soy sauce, and yakitori no tare, sweetened rich soy sauce, are examples of shoyu-based sauces. Miso-based sauces include gomamiso, miso with ground sesame, and amamiso, sweetened miso.

Some of the popular stir fry sauces include sweet and sour sauce, Teriyaki sauce, sesame dipping sauce, tentsuyu sauce and ponzu sauce.
