Thai tea (also known as Thai iced tea) when ordered in Thailand, is a drink made from strongly-brewed red tea that usually contains added anise, red and yellow food coloring, and sometimes other spices as well.

 


The main types are green tea (l cha ["茶]) and the fermented black tea (hong cha [紅茶], literally 'red tea'); half-fermented tea is known as oolong tea (wu long cha [烏龍茶], literally 'black dragon').

For a simple inexpensive refreshing drink, buy containers of flavored tea or lemonade and slice some oranges to float on the top. If paper goods are your responsibility, maybe add a little flair by going to a party supply store.

Use mint in salad dressings, flavored tea, and zesty marinades. Stir into warmed apple or currant jelly for a quick meat sauce or dessert topping.

Native to South Africa, the rooibos (Afrikaans for “red bush”) plant is naturally caffeine-free and produces an herbal infusion which, when the leaves are oxidized, produces a vibrant, red-colored tea.

Other kombucha products, including powdered tea and capsules and concentrated tinctures, can be found at some health food stores or through online vendors.

Then remove from heat and steep 1-2 Apple Cinnamon flavored tea bags for about 5 minutes. Remove and enjoy! This is wonderful and extremely low phe. Try a family version by using milk instead of Darifree. Makes 2 servings.
