Recipe for Roasted Garlic

The following recipe for roasted garlic is the oldest and easiest method of making roasted garlic.

Roasted Garlic Process:
Cut the top third of the garlic head off and discard it. Drizzle the remainder with olive oil and put it in aluminum foil. Bake in a 400 degree F oven until edges of the garlic are caramelized (about 40 min.).

Tips for using roasted garlic
Spread alone or with butter on toasted French bread.
Mix with mashed avocado and spread on well-toasted seven-grain bread.

When cooked ingredients such as roasted garlic are used, they should be allowed to completely cool. Mixing warm ingredients into the butter could cause it to separate, rendering the compound butter useless.
