Bass, or sea bass, is one of two closely related species of fish that range from the Black Sea through the Mediterranean and out into the Atlantic from the westernmost point of Africa up to Norway. Everyone from at least the first century A.D.

Sea bass is a saltwater fish with flavorful, moderately oily white flesh that, when cooked, has firm flakes. It is available as fresh or frozen fillets.

Sea bass:
A term used to describe a number of lean to moderately fat marine fish, most of which aren't actually members of the bass family. "Striped bass" and "Black Sea bass" are true bass. The "white sea bass" is a member of the drum family.
