Adding salt, pepper and/or herbs which are added to food to enhance its flavour, eg add the seasoning to the chicken pieces.

Steel Wok : Seasoning Tips
1. To season a new steel wok, after the rust-resistant coating has been removed, add two tablespoons of cooking oil to the wok. Tilt and rotate the wok to evenly coat with oil.

seasoning or flavoring composition, usually in liquid or semiliquid form, used as an appetizing accompaniment for meat, fish, vegetables, and desserts.

Seasonings and sometimes vegetables are added to the chopped meat. The cooking liquid is strained and added to the chopped meat. The cooled meat mixture is then poured into pans or molds and refrigerated until set.

jerk seasoning - A spicy Jamaican seasoning used to marinate fish, pork, chicken, and beef. The mix includes a blend of chiles, allspice, thyme, and lime juice or rum. Some jerk mixtures (jerk rub) are thick and are rubbed over meats before cooking.

Spices are seasonings obtained from the bark, buds, fruit or flower parts, roots, seeds or stems of various aromatic plants and trees. Herbs and spices should be stored in air tight glass jars.

Condiment
A seasoning used to flavour foods or to act as a preservative. Most condiments come from vegetables, and are used either raw or untreated (such as fresh herbs), or after preparation (such as sauces and chutneys).
