Squid A sea mollusk of the cuttlefish family. Also known as calamari.

Squid is a member of the cephalopod group of mollusks and is also called calamari. Squid have torpedo-shaped bodies, a transparent inner shell, eight arms and two tentacles. This shellfish can be panfried, baked, poached, fried or stuffed.

Squid - This cephalopod has become popular in the United States, as long as you call it calamari. Fresh squid should be purple to white -- avoid any squid with brown coloring -- and smell sweet and clean.
