GIS ArcARC/INFO

The ARC Macro Language (AML) is a proprietary high-level algorithmic language for generating applications in ArcInfo. It was designed by Esri in 1986 specifically for their command line-driven ARC/INFO geographical information system.

With ArcGIS 9, ARC Macro Language (AML) support is greatly enhanced, so you can leverage your AML macros as tools within the new geoprocessing framework.

IAC tools in AML (ARC Macro Language) support real-time GIS, a network GIS process server, interoperability, and open integration between ArcInfo and other applications.

ARC Macro Language (AML) is used to construct the GUIs which interface the simulation models and the economic model in a seamless decision support system framework.

ArcInfo Workstation provides geoprocessing via the classic user interface (ARC, ARCEDIT, ARCPLOT, ARC Macro Language [AML], and more).

As well as offering a suite of GIS tools and techniques, ARC/INFO came with its own macro language - ARC Macro Language (AML).
