[ESRI software] The user who administers ArcSDE geodatabases.

ArcSDE Geodatabase: A database or file structure used primarily to store, query, and manipulate spatial data. Geodatabases store geometry, a spatial reference system, attributes, and behavioral rules for data.

ArcSDE is server software by ESRI that spatially enables a Relational Database Management System. The spatial data may then be used as part of a geodatabase although this is not strictly necessary.

ArcSDE technology serves as the gateway between GIS clients and the RDBMS. It enables you to easily store, access, and manage spatial data within an RDBMS package such as
DB2
Informix
Oracle
PostgreSQL
SQL Server and SQL Server Express ...

Examples are MySQL or ArcSDE. Computer science, or computing science, is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation and their implementation and application in computer systems. ... Next big thing redirects here. ...
