Hint: The 1/3 ArcSecond Elevation data and the 2001 Land COver Data are not available for all areas. For this tutorial, I recommend that you download the 1" NED Data and the 1991 NLCD.
A free DEM of the whole world called GTOPO30 (30 arcsecond resolution, approx. 1 km) is available, but its quality is variable and in some areas it is very poor.
Due to perturbing influences on the Earth's orbit by the other planets, the true Sun is not always exactly on the ecliptic, but may be some arcseconds north or south of it. It is therefore the centre of the mean Sun which outlines its path.
The simulations in the Stör and Vils basins were based on DEM data sets with a spatial resolution of 1 arcsecond (equivalent to a grid size of about 33 m x 33 m and 29 m x 29 m, respectively) provided by the "Amt für Militärisches Geowesen" (Federal ...
The elevation grid was derived from GTOPO30, a 30-arcsecond global digital elevation model assembled by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) ...
