AutoCAD is a CAD (Computer Aided Design or Computer Aided Drafting) software application for 2d computer graphics and 3D design and drafting, developed and sold by Autodesk, Inc.

AutoCAD is a CAD software application for 2D and 3D design and drafting, developed and sold by Autodesk, Inc. Initially released in late 1982, AutoCAD was one of the first CAD programs to run on personal computers, and notably the IBM PC.

In addition, AutoCAD, normally used for drafts of engineering projects, can be configured for the editing of vector maps, and has some products that have migrated towards GIS use. It is especially useful as it has strong support for digitization.

One of the remaining hurdles to cross in the operationalization of the laboratory is to get a good base map with a good projection that can be digitized in Autocad/ArcCAD and which can then be moved back and forth between the different software ...

DXF "Drawing eXchange Format", an AutoCad export file. Drawing interchange format, a file exchange format developed by Autodesk Inc. for its AutoCAD drafting software. DXF files are ASCII records of all objects in a drawing file.

dxf conversion program generates an ASCII DXF (AutoCAD) file from a GRASS vector. The output file is placed in the user's current working directory unless the user specifies a full pathname for the output.

DXF (Drawing eXchange Format) - The digital file format for exchanging data between AutoCAD and other graphics data processing software packages. It has now become the industry standard for graphics file exchange between CAD and GIS applications.

DXF is an abbreviation for drawing interchange format, a file exchange format developed by Autodesk Inc. for its AutoCAD drafting software. DXF files are ASCII records of all objects in a drawing file.
