Avenue
[ESRI software] The object-oriented programming language on which ArcView 3.x is based. Avenue provides tools for customizing ArcView 3.x and developing ArcView 3.x applications.
Avenue expressions work like a hand-held calculator: they are evaluated in the order you type them. This means they do not follow the usual precedence rules (multiplication and division performed before addition and subtraction, for example).
