GIS Base MapBasemap

base tableA table that is physically stored in the database. Compare with view.
baud rateA measure of the speed of data transmission between computer and other devices, measured in bits per second.

base table
In a geodatabase, the spatially-enabled DBMS table that holds the main attribute values of a dataset.

Database table that assigns display parameters to each value in a field to generate thematic maps.
A list of values that are correlated to a range of other values.

A numerical, text, or image field in a relational database table that describes a spatial feature such as a point, line, area, or cell.

97 procedure that attaches values from a database table to another table based on matching a foreign key to its primary instance. K
kriging p.

Geodatabases support large collections of objects in a database table and features with geometry. The feature classes and tables contained in geodatabases can be related to one another.

A database table is created by //Spatial that contains the grid cell identifiers (usually row and column numbers), and all the aggregate behavior data, travel-time values, etc., from each of the grid maps in the spatial database.

The layer has two parts: the database table and the coordinate features. Both parts are necessary for the functionality of the layer in the GIS.

droptable removes an existing database table.
NOTE
If parameters for database connection are already set with db.connect, they are taken as default values and do not need to be spcified each time.
EXAMPLE ...

Only base fields can be made editable. A base field is a field in the base table (original destination) of a join. All other fields (the source, or "foreign," fields) cannot be edited in a table. (They can be edited from their own tables, though.) ...

Edits made to DEFAULT version automatically migrated to base tables
Supports undo/redo capability
Supports editing simple data only
Not compatible with geodatabase archiving and replication ...

[computing] In a relational database table, a primary key made by combining two or more keys that together form a unique identifier.

A database table often represents a single real world entity or object and will be used to store relevant attribute data. The database component is often linked or associated with the graphical component to complete an intelligent GIS system.

primary key One or more attributes whose values uniquely identify a row in a database table. See also foreign key.

forest inventory polygons linked to a database table containing all attributes as columns. This basic distinction of raster data storage provides the foundation for quantitative analysis techniques. This is often referred to as raster or map algebra.

Attributes: Characteristics of a geographic feature described by numbers, characters, and images, typically stored in a tabular format and linked to the feature by an identifier. A column in a database table.

Attribute Data - A set or collection of data that describe the characteristics of real world entities or conditions; commonly a column in a database table.

by numbers, characters, images and CAD drawings, typically stored in tabular format and linked to the feature by a user-assigned identifier (e.g., the attributes of a well might include depth and gallons per minute).
2. A column in a database table.
