BLOBBinary large object. The data type of a column in an RDBMS table which can store large image or textual data as attributes.

BLOB
Acronym for binary large object. A large block of data, such as an image, a sound file, or geometry, stored in a database. The database cannot read the BLOB's structure and only references it by its size and location.

to binary large object (BLOB) data stored directly in a relational database management system (RDBMS) similar to other vector-based feature classes.

New records are added with blank values for string and BLOB fields, and zero for numeric and date fields.
Selected records can also be deleted from tables. Like fields, records can only be deleted if the table is open for editing.

Each column stores the values of one type of attribute for all the records, or rows, in the table. All the values in a given column are of the same data type; for example, number, string, BLOB, or date.
