Data Manipulation Language

Data manipulation language (DML) - The language used in database management systems (DBMS) to access and retrieve data.

DMLData manipulation language. SQL statements that can be used either interactively or within programming language source code to access and retrieve data stored in a database management system.

It possesses knowledge structures needed to transform a user's request into a data request expressed in a form compatible with the data manipulation language of the GDL.
