Digital Number (DN) In image processing, the value of each pixel in a dataset. Usually these values are 8-bit, that is ranging from 0-255.
contrast stretching-Expanding a measured range of digital numbers in an image to a larger range, to improve the contrast of the image and its component parts. convection-Transfer of heat through the physical movement of heated matter.
Image differencing is based on band-by-band subtraction of digital numbers (DNs) using two images (e.g., band1(yr1)-band1(yr2), etc.).
Physical atomic process that transforms information from one form to another. For example, a Detector typically transforms a physical property or phenomenon to a digital number. Example Components include detectors, actuators, and physical filters.
spotvgt imports SPOT Vegetation (1km, global) NDVI data sets. After import the digital numbers (DN) are remapped to VEGETATION NDVI values and the NDVI color table is applied. The imported DN map is removed after remapping.
