Georeference
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Geographically reference) ...

To georeference an image, one first needs to establish control points, input the known geographic coordinates of these control points, choose the coordinate system and other projection parameters and then minimize residuals.

Georeference any XAML Element
This application helps you georeference any XAML element on a map and gives you the XAML needed to place it correctly on an ElementLayer.

Georeference
To represent page coordinates on a planar map with real world coordinates.
GIS ...

Georeference - The process of adding a real world coordinate system to a digital image. Accomplished in varying ways by viewing, CAD, or GIS systems.

Georeference: To establish the relationship between page coordinates on a planar map and known real-world coordinates.

Georeference A Scanned Map
So now you understand how to deal with images that have georeferencing information. But the usgs map has none! What to do?

GEOREFERENCE SYSTEM
A CO-ORDINATE SYSTEM for points on the Earth's surface. Examples of such a system are the Universal Transverse Mercator system (UTM) and the latitude and longitude graticule.

Georeference
The process of geographically modifying a map or aerial photograph so that every point on the map is geographically correct.
GIS - Geographic Information System ...

The georeferenced survey data made it readily integrable into the spatial frame. An inadequacy in our initial agroclimatic zones was identified from the farmer surveys.

full georeference requires the zone number, easting and northing (unless the area of the data base falls completely within a zone) ...

The massive Georeferenced Image Library of U.S. Roads and Arteries has been collected by Facet Technology Corporation, a computer software and services company. An old PR announcement from the company revealed that as of Sept.

Image integrator commands georeference images to real-world coordinates, display images, and manage image catalogs.

IKONOS DEM Overlays - The author demonstrates how one can easily use free ortho rectified, aligned and georeferenced satellite imagery along with free data from the gisdatadepot and create stunning 3D imagery. (Oct. 2001) ...

Scanning the raster data: High resolution scanners give very accurate raster images from the hard copies, which can be georeferenced, and digitized to get the vector output.

Data for GIS use must be georeferenced, or registered with the common coordinate system, to be useful. The accuracy of georeferencing has a significant impact on the validity of the GIS analysis to be performed.

proj attempts to invoke GDAL and OGR in turn to read a georeferenced file filename. The projection information will be read from this file. If the file is not georeferenced or cannot be read, XY (unprojected) will be used.

Whereas with vector data, each point, node, and vertex has an explicit and absolute coordinate location, raster cells are georeferenced relative to the layer's coordinate origin.

The aircraft uses a GNSS antenna combined with an INS to georeference its trajectory. The bore-sight calibration process aligns the individual sensor orientations and standardizes the range measurements.

Students learn to project geospatial data files, georeference image files, conduct vector and raster-based suitability analysis, collect GIS data in the field and create their own shapefiles, conduct basic 3D analysis, ...

For detailed instructions on how to georeference an image in ArcGIS, .
Once the image has been georeferenced, it is possible to do heads-up digitizing, where you digitize a new shapefile while working with something already onscreen.

In georeferencing, connections added between known points in a dataset being georeferenced and corresponding points in the dataset being used as a reference.

Already the System9 was able to display the georeferenced image as background to the vector objects.

Two identically georeferenced raster datasets can (and usually do) have different extents and different cell sizes. Most grid algorithms, however, treat the grids involved as matrices of data--arrays of numbers.

This tutorial will show the user how to import a georeferenced image into AutoCAD so that it contains true ground distances and coordinates found in the real world.

Image data is typically used in GIS systems as background display data (if the image has been rectified and georeferenced); or as a graphic attribute. Remote sensing software makes use of image data for image classification and processing.

Layer: The GIS data model represents the world by sub-dividing features on the earth's surface according to a specific theme. Each theme is georeferenced.

Color overlays would have made for prettier images, but the technical features of overlaying georeferenced satellite imagery over USGS DEMS should be apparent.

base map : A map containing visible surface features and boundaries, essential for locating additional layers, or types, of georeferenced information
Buffering: The process of creating areas of calculated distance from a feature ...

To establish the relationship of one data set to another through reference to common locations in both data sets. For example, a satellite image can be georeferenced to data stored in a coverage.

Resampling - A technique in digital image processing that interpolates pixels in the source data to new locations of transformed pixels, usually coinciding with a georeferenced grid.
