interbedded -- adj. Describes beds (layers) of rock lying between or alternating with beds of a different kind of rock.
Geology consists of steeply dipping interbedded Ordovician siltstones, shales and phyllites, with some schists and quartzites. The general strike is south-west, and the dip angle is 75° (Raymond, unpub.).
