label point -- a reference point used for displaying map and chart text (e.g., feature names) to assist in feature identification.
latitude -- angular distance measured on a meridian north or south from the equator.
label point
In a coverage, a feature class used to represent points or identify polygons. When representing points, the x,y location of the point describes the location of the feature.
label point See point. LAN Local area network. Computer data communications technology that connects computers at the same site. Computers and terminals on a LAN can freely share data and peripheral devices, such as printers and plotters.
Annotation: Text or label points plotted graphically on a map or drawing.
A single ArcInfo data source, for example, may contain label polygon, arc, label point, annotation, node, region, and route features, or a single geodatabase may contain several different data sources.
A point is also called a "label point". A label point is the element that holds information in the polygon. An example of data that would be stored in the system using this form would be fire hydrants, or a set of individual address locations.
A coverage stores geographic features as primary features (such as arcs, nodes, polygons, and label points) and secondary features (such as tics, map extent, links, and annotation).
Arc Coverage
We import the Arcs and Label points, the module takes care to build areas:

In SiteView polygon objects, the label point is not necessary and the attributes are an integral part of the object. The full closed perimeter of each polygon is specified and lines between adjacent polygons are duplicated.

It represents the area beyond the outer boundary of the coverage. It's the only polygon that never has a label point, and so has a User-ID value of 0. Its area equals the negative sum of all the polygons in the coverage.
