LEVELING RODS AND ACCESSORIES
7-5. Leveling rods are manufactured of metal, wood, or fiberglass. They are graduated in feet or meters and can be read directly to the nearest tenth of a foot or centimeter (Figure 7-1).

leveling
In surveying, the measurement of the heights of objects and points according to a specified elevation, usually mean sea level.

In the United States, the generally adopted vertical datum for leveling operations is the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. The horizontal datum is used as a reference for position.

Irrigation control, field leveling, variable rate seeding, disease/pest modeling, stress maps and a myriad other computer mapping uses are edging over the horizon.

A more modern instrument is a total station, which is a theodolite with an electronic distance measurement device (EDM) and can also be used for leveling when set to the horizontal plane.

Workflow and resource management—Automate workflows, conduct resource leveling, and track work execution to improve efficiencies and ensure repeatability of data management activities.

Immediately after an irrigation, the CO2 flux goes through a transient period, in which the flux rises to a maximum value, and then goes through a minimum before leveling off.

Mean Sea Level as the starting point for height measurements using a technique known as geodetic leveling ...

Surveyor at work with a leveling instrument. ... Analytic geometry, also called coordinate geometry and earlier referred to as Cartesian geometry or analytical geometry, is the study of geometry using the principles of algebra. ...

The POS AV features include in-air initialization, leveling of stabilized mounts, automatic drift correction, GNSS position translation using encoder data from stabilized mounts, ...

NIMA is applying several post-processing steps to these data including editing, spike and well removal, water body leveling and coastline definition.

The stereo model is then projected orthographically (perpendicular) to a map sheet, and adjusted by scaling and leveling to correct image distortions. By the mid 1990's it became practical to perform this work with scanned photoimages in a computer.

This is mainly due to the fact that most of the network points were established by older technology. There were no satellites as accurate as GPS to use in those days. Any related height information had to be provided by spirit leveling, ...
