As a way of saving space, if an entire row is one class, it is then stored as that class and the number of pixels only.
Quad Tree (Like the US public Land Survey) is a method that works by dividing a grid into four quadrants.

User can choose to output vector files treefile and overfile which represent the quad tree used for segmentation and overlapping neighborhoods from which additional points for approximation on each segment were taken.

Based on raster tiles organized in a quad tree scheme, data loading done with XMLHttpRequests. This mapping application became highly popular on the web, also because it allowed other people to integrate google map services into their own website.
