relational join
The operation of relating and physically merging two attribute tables using their common item.

 


Relational Join The process of connecting two tables of descriptive data by relating them by a key item, then merging the corresponding data. The common key item is not duplicated in this process.

relational join
Appending the fields of one table to those of another through an attribute or field common to both tables. A join is usually used to attach more attributes to the attribute table of a geographic layer.
