Rock Cycle:
All rock at or near Earth's surface is being modified by the processes of metamorphism, melting, crystallization, lithification and weathering.

 


rock cycle -- The process through which one type of rock (igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic) is converted into another.
salt lick -- n. A natural or artificial deposit of exposed salt that animals lick for nutrients.

rock cycle The concept of a sequence of events involving the formation, alteration, destruction and reformation of rocks as a result of geologic processes and which is recurrent, returning to a starting point. It represents a closed system.

The rock cycle is a model that describes how various geological processes create, modify and influence rocks. The rock cycle suggests that all rocks originated from magma.
