RPCA Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is a communication mechanism which allows one UNIX process to communicate with another UNIX process. These communicating processes can be on different computers over a network.

The RPC Server
An instance of the RPC Server should always be running in the background on any compute server (remote host machine) supporting FEMOD.

RPC services
EJB - stateless (Enterprise Java Bean)
[edit] Automated generation of WSDL
When a Webservice is exposed using Axis it will generate a WSDL file automatically when accessing the webservice URL with ?WSDL appended to it.

htm "Simple Object Access Protocol, a method invented by Microsoft to use RPC over the internet via HTTP calls. SOAP is now published as an W3C Note and implemented, among others, as part of the Apache XML Project.

This is specific to Windows only (RPC, Remote Procedure Calls, is used in the UNIX environment). DDE is supported in ArcView Version 2 for the exchange of data with other business applications without having to convert the data or leave ArcView.

Orthorectifying AVNIR-2 Data Rigorous and RPC Modeling
AVNIR-2 stands for Advanced Visible and Near Infrared Radiometer Type 2.

In the taxonomy of Web Services, WFS is best categorized as a non-RESTful RPC type service.
