There seems to be a common misconception that during the golf swing, many golfers will try to keep their wrists square to the target throughout the swing in an attempt to hit the ball straight.

(1) Play the ball a few inches back from the center position of your stance.

How to Score for Match Play

First, you're stopping the action, and consciously thinking about it. Second, you're trying to reproduce that sensation in a continuous motion. Third, you're adding the ball. This keeps the ball from becoming so intimidating.

Keeping your body still, create a clockwork rhythm in your putting action. If you keep it as simple as counting one-two-three, you will create an ability to putt with the timing of a metronome and you can expect to sink more and more balls.
