Addressing The Ball
Addressing the golf ball correctly is of supreme importance in golf. I presume that my statement that there is perhaps one golfer in a hundred who knows how to look at a ball, will cause many smiles, yet that is an exact fact.

Addressing the Ball
A player has 'addressed the ball'' when he has taken his stance and has also grounded his club, except that in a hazard a player has addressed the ball when he has taken his stance.

One Stroke Penalty
A term to describe the addition of a single stroke to the current tally for breaking a rule on the hole you are playing.

In addressing the ball, the heels should be placed at approximately the
width of the shoulders. The weight should be distributed evenly from the ball to the heel of the feet.

When addressing the ball, our conscious goal is either to hit the ball or to finish our swing. More often than not, the beginner golfer and those experienced golfers having problems, choose hitting the ball as their conscious goal.

Move the club-head forward ... along the intended line of flight .. But ensure the right heel immediately comes off the ground, and the right knee begins to fold in towards the left. NOTE.

To fix these problems, start by addressing the ball with a closed stance (right foot slightly behind the left for right-handed golfers). From this position, make sure your feet, hips and shoulders are aiming slightly to the right of the target.

As you stand behind the ball, picture yourself addressing the ball with the proper posture and alignment. Now, focus in on the desired ball flight. See the ball launching off the clubface-high in the air and heading right toward the target.

Professional golfers and good amateurs always have relaxed arms at address, the little waggle of the club head while behind the ball at address is good way to stay relaxed while addressing the ball.

Bounce
Technically, the measure of the angle from the front edge of a club's sole to the point that rests on the ground when addressing the ball.

This is the only format in which the winner is the player who gets the higher score. It is a faster format and it allows to pick up the ball.
Stance: The position of your feet when addressing the ball.
