Closest to the pin - On par 3's a marker is used to mark the closest ball to the hole. If the next group has a player(s) who get closer they move the marker and mark their name on the leader board.
"Closest to the Pin" on par 3′s. He who lands the ball on the green, closest to the hole and makes at least Par wins the "KP" point. Also known as a "Greenie" in some parts of the country. Knockdown Shot A shot played low into the wind.
Confusion A game in which a point is awarded to the first player of the group to get to the green, one for the players closest to the pin and one for the first player to hole out. The winner is the player with the highest number of points.
There should be prizes for achievements on the golf course, such as longest drive and closest to the pin. There should also be signs at each tee paid for by identified contributors.
At the end of the round the dots are counted to award or settle up with the most accomplished golfers. Achievements can include; greens in regulation, closest to the pin on par 3, sand saves, scoring par, scoring birdie, one putts, long drive, ...

When removing the flag, don't drop it onto the green, always lower it gently and drop it just outside the green (the player whose ball is closest to the pin has the pin responsibilities).
