Dog-leg: A hole that follows a broken, sharply angled line from the tee to the green. Drive: The longest type of stroke made during play, usually with a wood or low numbered iron. Eagle: Two strokes under par for a hole.
Dog-leg A hole with a fairway that bends sharply. A hazard is often positioned at the angle of the dog-leg to put you off driving across it. Double bogey A score of two over par for a hole.

We may elect to shoot over a dog-leg instead of around it. We may turn in a lower qualifying score just to get into a higher flight, or we may turn in a higher qualifying score in order to insure winning a trophy in a lower flight.
